I grew up helping my mother and grandmother run their own home daycares, so child care was an early skill for me. My teen years I spent mostly babysitting, and now I'm a mother of three myself. As a family we are close but independent. Each kid is different and I like to give them the freedom to make their own choices and do things that make them happy, but I always keep my eye on them for learning moments. What little free time I have as a mom, I spend playing video games or sewing.
